Three steps, thirty minutes

STEP ONE You give us a domain name Nothing else. No access to your systems, no software installed, no agent on any device. Just the domain your email addresses end in.
STEP TWO We run the dark web scan We search breach data and the marketplaces where stolen credentials and records are sold, for your domain, your staff addresses and the passwords attached to them.
STEP THREE Thirty minutes, going through it In person or on a call. What was found, what it means, what is urgent and what is not, and what to do first. You keep the report.

Why does leaked data matter if the breach was not ours?

Most credential exposure a South African business suffers did not originate in its own systems. It came from a breach at some other service a staff member signed up to using a work email address, and it matters because people reuse passwords. An attacker who buys a leaked password for a work address will try it against your Microsoft 365 tenant, and roughly a third of the time somebody is still using it.

This is why the scan is the most useful free thing LANTEK can offer. It is not a sales device dressed as a diagnostic. It routinely finds live, working credentials that the business had no way of knowing about.

What does a typical scan find?

A typical scan of a twenty to fifty person South African business returns several staff email addresses with associated passwords from historical breaches, at least one of which is usually still in use somewhere. It commonly also finds addresses of staff who left years ago, on accounts nobody disabled. The second finding is often the more serious one.

Before you call

What does the free dark web scan actually check?
The scan searches breach databases and the marketplaces where stolen and leaked data is traded, looking for your company domain, your staff email addresses, passwords tied to them, and company records that have appeared in somebody else’s breach. Most exposures it finds did not come from your systems at all. They came from another service your staff signed up to using a work email address.
How long does the health check take?
Thirty minutes. The scan runs beforehand, so the time is spent going through what came back rather than waiting for it. You get a plain language explanation of each exposure, what it means in practice, and what to do about it in priority order.
Is this a sales meeting?
No, and there is no obligation attached. You keep the report whether you work with LANTEK or not, and it is written so that another provider could act on it. The reason LANTEK offers it is straightforward: businesses that see their own exposure written down tend to want it fixed, and roughly half of them ask who could do that.
Do we need to install anything or give you access?
No. The dark web scan needs only your company domain name. Nothing is installed, no access to your systems is required, and no agent is placed on any device. If you later want a deeper technical assessment that is a separate, scoped exercise you would agree in writing.
What happens if the scan finds something serious?
You are told immediately rather than at the meeting. If the scan turns up live credentials for an account that is still active, that is a same day phone call, because the useful action is to change it now. Nothing about the process holds a serious finding back in order to create a sales moment.
