Somebody has to be the person who answers.
LANTEK is a South African managed service provider that has been trading since 1998. We are small enough that what you do is visible, and established enough that the work is real.
What is it actually like to work here?
LANTEK runs a client facing service desk and a security practice across two offices, Ballito and Sandton. Engineers own client relationships rather than working from an anonymous queue, which means you will know the businesses you look after and they will know you. It also means the standard is higher, because the person who breaks something is the person who explains it.
What do you look for?
Two things above any specific technology. The ability to explain a technical problem to somebody who is not technical, without condescension and without jargon, because that is most of the job. And the instinct to write down what you did, because the next person to touch that system needs to know. Certifications matter, and they matter less than those two.
Do you support certification and training?
Yes. Our vendor accreditations require engineers to be certified and kept current, so training is not a perk we grant occasionally, it is a requirement of the business. Time and cost for relevant certification are supported, and the security practice is led by a CISSP certified specialist.
What roles do you usually hire?
Service desk and field engineers, infrastructure and cloud specialists, and security analysts. We also take on people early in their careers where the aptitude is clearly there, because most of what makes a good engineer here is not taught on a course.
Nothing advertised right now
We would still rather hear from you than not. Send a short note about what you do and what you want to be doing, to info@lantekcomputers.com . If there is nothing suitable we will say so quickly rather than leave you waiting.
A free dark web scan
and thirty minutes.
We scan for your company email addresses, passwords and customer data in the places stolen and leaked data gets traded, then spend thirty minutes walking you through what came back and what it actually means. No pressure, no jargon, no obligation. You keep the report either way.
Worried about what it takes to move?
Changing IT provider is the single biggest reason businesses stay somewhere they have outgrown. We plan the move around your working week, and we help carry the cost of getting across. Ask us how that works when we speak.
